The Isle of Skye Tour

A full-day journey through some of Scotland's most dramatic and unforgettable landscapes.

A Day on the Isle of Skye

The Isle of Skye is one of Scotland's most remarkable landscapes, known for its dramatic mountains, rugged coastline and extraordinary scenery.

Starting from Fort William, we'll journey west towards Skye, with scenic stops along the way before crossing onto the island and exploring some of its most memorable places.

The day is flexible, allowing us to adapt to the weather, the light and what interests you most. It's a long day, but there's no rushing from stop to stop — just plenty of time to enjoy the journey and experience Skye.

Your Day on Skye

Every tour is a little different, but we'll explore some of Skye's most memorable scenery, with plenty of time to stop and enjoy the places we visit.

The day may include Sligachan, Portree, the Quiraing and other scenic locations around the island, along with quieter viewpoints and stops along the way.

We'll stop for lunch or coffee during the day, and there may be time for a short walk if you'd like. The route remains flexible throughout the day, allowing us to adapt to the weather, the light and your interests.

Your Isle of Skye Experience

The Journey to Skye
The journey from Fort William is part of the day, with around two hours of travel each way and scenic stops along the route. We'll usually stop at the Commando Memorial before continuing west towards Skye.

Eilean Donan Castle
A highlight of the journey is Eilean Donan Castle, with time to enjoy the views and take photographs. You can also visit the castle itself if you'd like, with admission paid separately.

Sligachan & the Cuillin Mountains
On Skye, we'll visit locations such as Sligachan, with its old bridge, waterfalls and dramatic views towards the Cuillin mountains.

The Quiraing
We'll travel north to the remarkable Quiraing, part of the ancient Trotternish landslip. A short walk offers some of the most spectacular views on Skye.

Kilt Rock & the Coast
At Kilt Rock, we'll stop to see the waterfall dropping from the sea cliffs towards the ocean, with wide coastal views towards mainland Scotland.

Every tour is slightly different. The route remains flexible and can be shaped around the places you'd most like to see.

Add Photography to Your Tour

If you'd like photographs of your time on the Isle of Skye, professional tour photography can be added to your day.

I'll capture natural, relaxed images throughout the tour, giving you a collection of photographs from your time in the Highlands without turning the day into a formal photoshoot.

Full-day tour photography add-on — £250
